Accident or breakdown?

  1. Get safe: stop, hazard lights on, everyone out and away from traffic. Call 123 (ambulance) if anyone is hurt.
  2. Call the police on 122 and the Recars 24/7 hotline. Don't move the car after an accident until police arrive (unless unsafe).
  3. Take photos: all sides of every car, plates, damage, road and the other driver's licence.
  4. Get a police report (محضر) — insurance cover requires it for any accident or theft.
  5. Don't sign anything or agree to repairs. Send the photos and report number to Recars on WhatsApp.

Breakdown

Roadside assistance runs 24/7 in Cairo, Alexandria, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and El Gouna. Please don't attempt repairs yourself.

Replacement car

If the breakdown isn't your fault we arrange a replacement car of the same or nearest available category as fast as possible, depending on the city.
